    First Baptist Head Start will build a strong community of self-sufficient individuals by nurturing and empowering children and families through individualized services. Our goal is to promote family wellness through the encouragement of self-sufficiency.
    As the pressures of social changes progress, we strive to bring a greater degree of Social and Emotional competence to the lives of our children and parents. We encourage families to strengthen their self-confidence and self- discipline by providing community involvement and resources.
    We are committed to providing the very best quality of Head Start services to the children and families we serve.

Philosophy

Our philosophy is driven by the vision of excellence.   We believe all children deserve an equal start to life and a strong support system.  We aim to make parents the “First Teacher” in their child’s educational experience.

Programs

Traditional-Preschool Half-Day Program

Our Traditional Half Day program operates 3.5 hour per day, 8 months a year.   Class operates Monday – Friday with an AM / PM option.  Eligible families must have a child age 3 or 4 by September 2nd of the current year.   4-year-old children receive priority placement.  Family’s must meet Federal Income Guidelines to quality for FREE services.  These guidelines are flexible for children with special needs and disabilities.

Center-Based-Infant/Toddler and Preschool Program/Full Day

Our Center Based, Full day program offers early learning to Infant/Toddlers and preschool children, ages 3-5 years of age.  Full Day classes operates year around.  Our full day centers are open from 6:00am – 6:00pm, Monday - Friday.  Children with special needs and 4-year-old children receive priority placement.
